Donald Paul Jenkin passed away on April 25th 2024, at the age of 93. Don was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on February 4, 1931. Don graduated from Ishpeming High School. Then attended Michigan Tech earning a BS of Electrical Engineering. Don Received his MBA at the University of Dayton. He retired from Delco Products, GMC after 30 years of dedicated service. Don served in the Army at White Sands Proving Grounds. Don and his wife Jean were members of the Miami Valley Bridge Association, traveled nationally to compete in tournaments, and attained the rank of Life Masters. In addition, they directed local chapters for many years, as well as led the fundraising to create a new Miami Valley Bridge Center. Don and Jean also spent years in local and national line dancing. Don and Jean traveled the world extensively after Don’s retirement from Delco, GMC with Don’s brother, Jerry Jenkin, managing to visit almost every continent except Antarctica. Don and Jean were members of the Christ Church United Methodist. Don married the love of his life, Elizabeth Jean Brewer, on September 12, 1955. Don and Jean adopted two children, Clay Gronlund Jenkin and Gwendolyn Brewer Jenkin, and brought them into a loving, caring and nurturing home. Don is preceded in death by parents, Gilmore and Sigrid Jenkin; wife, Elizabeth Jean Jenkin; brothers, Bill, Paul and Jim. Don is survived by brothers Jerry and Tom (Mary); children, Clay Jenkin (Tonya) and Gwen Bonecutter (Doug); grandchildren Ashley, Megan and Dillon; great-grand-children Rachel and Reagan. Visitation will be at Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Ave., Kettering, OH 45429, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.
