Diena Darlene Tyson Shepard

Shepard, Diena D., of Kettering died on February 5, 2017. She was born in Harvey, Illinois on May 4, 1924 to Bernard and Elizabeth Drenth Tysen. She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene W. Shepard of 48 years and her sister Edith Tysen Fransen. Diena was the mother of James Shepard (Joellyn), Gerald Shepard (Candy), Diena Vivio (Jon), and David Shepard. Her grandchildren are Noel Shepard, Jeremy Shepard, Lindsey Forschner, Nicholas Vivio, Jacob Shepard, Andrea Farnsworth, Morgan Shepard, Emily Linan, Austin Shepard. She has four great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was a member of Central Christian Church, the Young at Hearts, and became a water aerobics instructor in her 80s. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, neighbor, and forever friend. She was a loyal Sunday School teacher, choir member and committed prayer partner. Visitation will be on Friday, February 10, from 4:00-6:00 at Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Ave., Kettering. Funeral will be at Tobias on Saturday, February 11 at 10:00 a.m. The service will be conducted by Dr. Gerald Shepard. Pallbearers will be: Nicholas Vivio, Lindsey Forschner, Andrea Farnsworth, Jacob Shepard, Morgan Shepard, Emily Linan, Austin Shepard. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in New Carlisle, OH. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to: The Multiple Sclerosis Society, Crohns and Colitis Foundation, or the Disabled American Veterans.
