Dennis "Denny" H. Grimes

GRIMES, Dennis “Denny” H., age 74 of Xenia, passed away from an unexpected complication following heart surgery, on Friday, May 19, 2017. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Grimes. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Cathy Grimes, daughters and sons-in-law Jennifer and Rick Hunt of Mason, OH, Karen and Chad Rygalski of Hilliard, OH, grandchildren Benjamin, Emily and Audrey Hunt, and Evan and Julia Rygalski. He graduated from Mississinawa Valley High School in 1960, and served a Tool and Die apprenticeship in Dayton, Ohio. Denny retired in 1999 from G.M. having worked there for 24 years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #668 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles and Moose Lodge #1629. He was an active volunteer with the Food Bank in Xenia. He spent many hours on his retirement project restoring his red 1969 Firebird. Denny loved many things in life, but above all he loved his wife, daughters and adored his grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with them and being an integral part of their lives. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at St. Brigid Catholic Church, 312 Fairground Rd., Xenia, OH. Fr. John Krumm celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Tobias Funeral Home – Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. at Grange Hall Rd. from 5 pm – 8 pm.
