Della L Spires Wolfe

Della L. Spires Wolfe, age 90, passed away on September 30, 2024 at the Hospice of Dayton following a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born on September 13, 1934 in Adams County, OH to the late Alva and Edna (Tomlin) Spires.

Aside from her loving parents, Della is preceded in death by her husband of thirty five years, Harold L. Wolfe; six brothers and five sisters; one son-in-law, David Drum.

She is survived by her four children, Sharon Drum; H. Stephen (Rayetta) Wolfe, Julia (Roger) Allen, and Greg Wolfe. She also leaves behind twenty grandchildren, fifty nine great grandchildren (two deceased), and seven great-great grandchildren; her sister, Peggy (Joe) Devore; her sister in law, Marie Spires, as well as numerous nieces, and nephews.

Della was employed by Rike’s Department Store (which later became Lazarus) for over forty years. She also worked for a number of years for Comfort Keepers of Dayton. She attended Calvary Open Bible Church and Center of Hope.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 from 10:00AM until 12 NOON at Spaulding Road Church of God (1658 Spaulding Road, Dayton, OH), with a funeral service to begin at 12 NOON with Pastors Michael Baab and Daniel Kroger officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Zion Shoup Cemetery.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice of Dayton or the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements and care provided by Tobias Funeral Home- BELMONT CHAPEL.
