Deborah “Nana” Norman (Spoonmore) passed away peacefully at Hospice of Dayton on September 27th, 2018 in Dayton, OH at the age of 65, surrounded by family and loved ones, after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Born March 25th, 1953, in Battle Creek, MI, Deborah was the daughter of the late William “Harvey” and Louise Spoonmore. Growing up in New Lebanon, OH, she graduated from Dixie High School where she was a member of the drill team and had many great friends she remained close with throughout the years. After graduation, Deborah would move to Dayton and Columbus working for Aetna Insurance Company, ultimately settling in Centerville. Deborah raised her family in Centerville, where she was a devoted mother and proud Soccer Mom – a role her and her best friends have continued to celebrate long after the last game was played. As a Soccer Mom, she enjoyed their many Florida trips, Friday pizza and wine, and sharing in each other’s lives. Later in life, Deborah began a new adventure as a business owner after purchasing and becoming a partner in Bo-K’s Fine Jewelry, a passion she loved and enjoyed. As much as she loved being a Soccer Mom and jeweler, her greatest role was being Nana. In her role as Nana, she got to spend countless hours with her grandchildren, days and nights with both of them in her pool, movie nights with popcorn, and cooking everything with lots of butter and sugar. Deborah is survived by her three sons; Brian Norman (Kate) of Centerville; Christopher Norman (Jill) of Cincinnati; and Jason Norman of Winston-Salem; her two grandchildren Jack and Annie; and her sister Pam Spoonmore of New Lebanon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Ron Spoonmore and mother-in-law Louise Norman. Her family would like to thank the passionate health care providers at The Kettering Cancer Center, The Kettering Medical Center, Hospice of Dayton, and the many family members, friends, and loved ones who supported her in her battle with breast cancer. Visitation will be held at Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Ave., Dayton, OH 45459 on Wednesday, October, 3, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Ave., Dayton, OH 45459 on Thursday October, 4, 2018 at 10:00 AM followed by interment at Fairview Cemetery, West Alexandria, Ohio.
