David Carl Watson peacefully passed away to his heavenly home surrounded by love and comfort with his wife, Dottie, his children, and grandchildren on January 10, 2023. Not only was he a strong faithful believer in God but also a follower of His word. His unwavering faith in Jesus as his savior was reflected by his loving, caring, and giving character throughout his life.
David was born on January 22, 1937 to Carl Watson and Noretta Watson-Ramsey. Growing up he loved and cared for his two younger sisters Linda Brown and Deborah Scott. He was raised by a wonderful man, Clifford Ramsey, who lovingly became his father and raised him with his wife Noretta. His first job was as a paperboy and bowling was his sport he greatly enjoyed.. He won many trophies at bowling and kept playing well into his married and family years. He was also musically gifted playing the trumpet following in the footsteps of his musically gifted parents.
David graduated from the University of Cincinnati with an engineering degree. After graduation he worked as a materials engineer at Wright Patterson Air Force Base from August 2, 1962 until retiring on January 3, 1997. During his career his hard work and creativity won him numerous awards and recognition.
After graduation he married the love of his life, Dottie Jean, on December 17, 1965 and spent his life caring, loving, and supporting her and their two children, and their four grandchildren. Not only was he a wonderful father as he was also a very kind and sweet grandfather whose loving characteristics have left a legacy that will be carried on through all their lives. He enjoyed many camping trips to Michigan and his favorite vacation spot of Gatlinburg TN.
Living his life following God’s word not only in his belief but also with his loving actions is reassuring that God has said to him, Mathew 25:21; “His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant…” Knowing that David accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior it is reassuring to know that he is peacefully in the presence of God in heaven.
