He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Ramon. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Phyllis Ann (Kennan) Maxwell, his two sons Matthew (Elizabeth) Maxwell, and Stephen (Lisa) Maxwell. He had four wonderful grandkids, Olivia, Griffin, William and Kathryn, in which he was a frequent fixture on the sidelines for their sporting events.
He graduated from Springfield High School and the University of Dayton, where he worked at UDRI for 48½ years. He loved the Dayton Flyers and was a passionate supporter of both the Men’s and
Women’s basketball teams. An avid woodworker, he enjoyed doing special projects for his church and volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, Ohio Baptist Builders and We Care Arts. He was a member of First Families of Ohio and Families of the Old Northwest Territories.
Visitation for David will be Tuesday January 14, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Kettering starting at 11:00am with the funeral at Noon. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Habitat for Humanity, Ohio Baptist Builders, or We Care Arts in David’s name.
David will be laid to rest in Valley View Memorial Gardens, Xenia, Ohio.
