David N. Bond- loving husband, father and grandfather aged 85 years of Beavercreek Ohio passed away at his home on 14 August 2023. Grandpa-Dad Bond was born in Dayton, Ohio on 18 January 1938. An early resident of Dayton View, David graduated Roosevelt High School and subsequently earned his Associate’s Degree in Engineering Design-Graphics (Drafting) from Sinclair University. In 1956 David began his 36 year career with General Motors Corporation at the Delco-Moraine Brake Division, Moraine Ohio. Retiring in 1992 as Supervisor of Drafting he later worked for Ferno-Washington Inc., Elder-Beerman, Village Cadillac and he was a Computer-Graphics design Instructor at Sinclair Community College.
Dave Bond was a gifted designer, leader, mentor athlete and friend. David was a starting guard for both Sinclair and Delco Moraine competitive basketball teams in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s. He was a natural athlete of sorts who excelled in whatever sport he decided to play. David enjoyed the outdoors, canoeing on the Little Miami River, golfing, lay participation in church-ministry, having a nice meal with friends-family and cars.
David (Grandpa Bond) is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kay Frances (Wilson) Bond and son David C. Bond both of Beavercreek, OH; son Kevin F. White (Rose) of New Carlisle, OH; brother Gary L. Bond (Connie) of Acworth, GA; niece Stacey Bond of Marietta, GA; nephew Ryan Bond (Velma) of Springboro, OH; sister-in-law Patsy Cooper (Cecil) of Kingsport, TN; 5 grandchildren- Samantha Smith (Christopher), Jonathon White (Jessica), Paul White (Ashley), Patrick White (Rachel) and Stephen White; 7 great-grandchildren Emma, Charlotte, Kevin, Everly, Alexandria, Caeden and Aveline. David is preceded in death by his parents George H. and Esther M. Bond, and his daughter Shawna Bond. David placed his trust and faith in the strong and mighty hands of his Savior the Lord Jesus Christ in the early 1970’s.
A Christian celebration of life service will be held 2:00PM Friday, 15 September 2023 at the Tobias Funeral Home-Beavercreek Chapel, with Pastor Tim Abel presiding; family to receive friends one hour prior. Burial will follow in the Valley View Memorial Gardens.
