Cynthia 'Judy' Cox

COX, Cynthia Jane (Judy) age 93 passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Sunday, March 26, 2017 at the Kettering Medical Center. Judy was born and raised in Circleville, West Virginia. She moved to Dayton during WWII when she met her loving husband of 71 years, Dennis Cox; who was serving in the Royal Air Force at the time. Judy was a gentle soul, loving mother and grandmother, and a talented seamstress and quilter. She also enjoyed gardening, square dancing, and needlework. She touched many lives with her tender heart and warm smile, especially when volunteering with the We Care Arts. Judy was a charter member of the Mighty Fortress Lutheran Church and was active with their alter guild. She is preceded in death by her daughter Barbara Jane. Judy is survived by: her loving husband, Dennis; children Victor(Connie)Cox, and Debbie(Bob)Fuller: her grandchildren Michelle, Penni, Debbi and Christine; Kimberly and Kelly; Courtney and Melanie: her great-grandchildren Kayla, Tristin and Carl III; Summer and Elliot; Taylor, Cole and Caden: great-great-grandson Stephan “Hezekiah”: her sisters Kathy, Audra and Jean. Family will receive friends 5:00PM to 7:00PM Friday, March 31, 2017 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-Far Hills Chapel. Funeral service will be held 11:00AM Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Mighty Fortress Lutheran Church 2841 E. Dorothy Lane Dayton, OH 45420 with Pastor Ron Wean officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the church in Judy’s memory.
