Poppaw, Craig Allen age 68 of Dayton, Ohio passed away Tuesday February 20, 2024 at Kettering Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his father King Poppaw and is survived by his wife of 47 years Deborah; his mother Rose; 2 daughters Jessica (Poppaw) Proud and husband Ty, Jennifer (Poppaw) Dodovski and husband Tim; a brother Chris Poppaw and wife Angela; and grandchildren Vincent, Joseph, Lou, Kingston and Rocco and numerous beloved family and friends. He retired early from Dayton Progress after 40 years, a member of St Anthony Church for nearly 40 years, Lifetime collector of advertising, cars and mid-century modern, belonged to the German Club and Beer can collectors. Craig was a beloved basketball coach for St. Anthony, Chaminade Julienne and national champions Dayton Lady Hoopsters AAU team. He was a proud father and grandfather who loved his family especially watching them play sports. A man who was loved by everyone and was nice to everyone he met always standing up for what is right. Craig had a competitive nature. He loved drinking beer, rum and being with his family on their beach vacations. Mass of Christian Burial 11 am Tuesday February 27, 2024 at St Anthony Catholic Church 820 Bowen St Dayton, OH 45410. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. Friends and family may call from 10 am until mass time Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St Anthony Church.
