Ray was born on February 23, 1937 to Albert and Dora Alexander of Cherry Fork, Ohio. He is survived by his sister, Betty Wiblin (Fort Wayne, Indiana), and preceded in death by his sister Judith Fox and brother Robert Alexander. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1956, where he proudly served for 8 years.
After retiring from the Air Force, Ray continued his service through volunteer work in leadership of various veteran organizations. He served on the Board of Veterans Services from January 2000 until March 2019, during which time he held every position possible on the Board, including President. Ray also served on AmVets, where he held many titles and served as the State Officer. He was also a member of Disabled American Veterans. Ray was on the Highland County Honor Guard, and served the veteran community in Highland County with pride. Ray served as a volunteer firefighter for Station 4 of the Beavercreek Township Fire Department, as well as a volunteer police officer for Sugarcreek Township.
Ray and Betty led a large family, all of whom miss them dearly. Ray is survived by his children, Brenda (Ed) Kincer, Deanna (Tom) O’Diam, Donna Alexander, and Dodie (Brian) Turner. He leaves ten grandchildren: Andrea Kincer, Ben Kincer, Nick O’Diam, Brittany (Adam) Horseman, Lindsey (Alex) Taylor, Justin Alexander, Amie Knoll, Amanda Alexander, Sara Turner and Josh Turner. Twelve great-grandchildren always managed to put the biggest smiles on Ray’s face: Joey, Noah, Emily, Lizzie, Addison, Brian, Kinley, Camden, Jake, Laela, Ada and Jet.
