Cheryl D Powell, age 76, of Beavercreek, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022. Cheryl was born in Dayton, Ohio to Robert H. Barr and Ethel Elaine Barr. Cheryl is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Willard D Powell, two sons, Robert M (Faith) Powell and Randy W Powell, grandchildren Robbie (Lindsey) Porter, Michael (Courtney) Powell, Joshua (Erika) Powell, Ashley Powell, Justin (Taylor) Powell, and Adam Powell, great grandchildren Lucy and Oliver Porter, Annie Powell, Josie Porter, Ellie and Madelyn Powell, and one great grandchild on the way, Izzy Powell.
Cheryl was employed for 30 years as a home-based preschool teacher for Miami Valley Childhood Development. In her spare time, Cheryl loved to cruise and travel with Willard. She was also an avid animal lover and rescuer and Will never knew what he was coming home to! She loved her jewelry "bling" that she and Will acquired through their travels. She loved her sparkling clothes, fingernail polish, and she loved being the center of attention. She loved dressing up as a clown and various characters with her best friend, Linda Geisel. She loved shopping and going to garage sales with her friend Cathy Burke. She loved to garden and do crafts with her grandchildren. She and Will visited Hasty Tasty and ordered the daily special and talked to all her favorite waitresses and patrons around her. She was a member of Risen Church.
Cheryl led a courageous life-long battle with diabetes which ultimately took her life.
The family would like to thank Cheryl's special friends Linda Geisel and Cathy Burke for being true friends and always being there for her until the very end!
Cheryl would not want us to be sad for her. She is now walking without her braces, using her hands, seeing and hearing perfectly; for she is now walking hand-in-hand with her parents and her Lord Jesus Christ.
A memorial visitation for Cheryl will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Tobias Funeral Home, 3970 Dayton Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio, followed by a memorial service at 6:00 PM.
