HOWERTON, Charles D., age 87 of Kettering, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2011 at The Hospice of Dayton. Chuck was born on November 19, 1924 in Beattyville, Kentucky to the late Fred and Emma Sizemore Howerton. He was also preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jo-Ann Davis Howerton, married September 1, 1951; three sons, David (Karen) Howerton of Huber Heights, Dean (Jamie) Howerton of Springboro, and Dana (Jill) Howerton of Kettering; eight grandchildren,Dana. Karly, Katy, Kirsten, Holly, Aly, Austin and Kelsey; two great grandchildren, Dianna and Charlie; a brother John (Toni) Howerton; and a sister-in-law, Lorene Howerton. Chuck served in the U.S. Army Air Corp in the Pacific Theater during WW II retired after 34 years as a Logistics Specialist with WPAFB. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #9927. Chuck and Jo-Ann enjoyed spending time at Indian Lake and for the past 12 years the winters in Florida. Private service at the convenience of the family.
