(December 5, 1928 to December 12, 2021)
With gratitude for a long and ever-loving life, the family wishes to announce the death of a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Catherine Janson. Catherine was proudly born in the most easterly province of Canada in St. John's, Newfoundland (NL) and Labrador.
A faithful Catholic woman, Catherine and her family were long time parishioners of St. Anthony’s Parish, which she attended until prevented by recent health issues. Over the years, she had dedicated herself to many ministries within the church. To the very end she felt very much a part of the parish community.
Preceded by her late husband Joseph Janson (1980); two sons Michael (2000) and David (2012); three grandchildren Kyle Quinn (2014), and Janson Twins Joshua Eli and Nathan Christopher (1995); and from St. John's, NL, her parents William (1977) and Catherine Duff (1967); her brother William Duff (1948); and her sister Elizabeth Duff (2016).
Leaving to mourn her great loss are her children, Joe (Margie), St. John’s, NL; Bill (Debbie); Brian (Mary-Ann); Leo (Carol); Mary (Victor) Couch; Betty (Ken) Quinn; Cathy (Jeff) Sears; Sean (Kristal); Anna Maria (James) Hall; Damien; and Maureen (Paul) Shaffer; and her daughter-in-law Tammy, plus 35 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren with two on the way, with one great-great grandchild on the way, and her niece Peggy (Hal) Ward, Lake Charles, Louisiana.
A special thank you is offered to the management and staff of Randall Residence Retirement and Assisted Living Facility, Tipp City, Ohio and to Crossroads Hospice, also Dr. David Paige. Your loving kindness will be cherished.
We who remain, will remember her quick wit, laughter, and sense of humor. We will miss her calling us her little “duckies” and saying “goodbye” and “God bless”.
