Catherine Lucille Hurr

Hurr, Catherine L. (Katie) 90 passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Walnut Creek Nursing Center after a brief illness of dementia. She is survived by daughters Karen Jones and Linda (Ken) Franke of Dayton, Ohio ; Michelle Hurr of Dallas, Texas; sons Jim Hurr of Dayton, Ohio and Tom (Cecilia) Hurr of Winder, Georgia. Also survived by eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren with a great-grandson due in July. Also survived by two sisters in Arizona, Grace Kilbury and Ann Dicken; brother George Lupica and sister Mary Jo in Marion, Ohio and a very special sister-in-law Dorothy Louderback in Haslett, Michigan. Catherine was born in Marion, Ohio on July 1, 1924 and moved to Dayton, Ohio in 1959. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Catilena Lupica, husband William, son-in-law Robert Jones, daughter-in-law Susie Hurr, two sisters Ginny Bassler, Connie Vacca and brother Joseph Lupica Jr. Catherine retired from Key Bank and was a member of the Church of the Ascension. She was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Church of the Ascension, 2025 Woodman Dr., Kettering, Ohio 45420. Fr. Chris Worland celebrant. Interment will follow in Heritage Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME – BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. at Grange Hall Rd. on Friday, April 24 from 5 pm – 8 pm.
