Hoffman, Bernita L. was born on April 2, 1925 the oldest of three children to Virgil and Lena (Myers) Shelton. Survived by husband, Marion Hoffman; daughter, Sheila Jacqueline (Hoffman) Graham (our son-in-law, Paul), two grandsons, Russell Howard and Scott Shelton Wichard of Virginia Beach, VA and a step brother, Darrell Shelton; She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Yvonne (Shelton) Dedrick; and a brother, Virgil Shelton Jr.; On July 6, 1945 she was joined in earthly journey, by marriage to her beloved husband, Marion C. Hoffman. They have been blessed by living life for these 67 years. Having lived the best era of mankind, life together has been the “American Dream”. She was baptized on May 28, 1950 by Rev. Daniel Frederick, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Dayton, OH. Baptismal verse Matthew 28:19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”. Bernita taught Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, worked with Women of the Church, and worked with her husband and others in Stewardship Committee in building a new Nave. She also worked in the public schools as a home room mother. Life on earth is a journey. I have completed my earthly journey. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 to 10:30 at Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Ave.; Funeral will begin at 10:30 on Tuesday. Interment will follow in David’s Cemetery.
