Augustine Robert "Bob" Aufderheide

AUFDERHEIDE, Augustine Robert “Bob”, age 80 of Dayton, Ohio and Sanibel Florida passed away Monday, July 30, 2012 at Kettering Medical Center. Bob was born on April 7, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Maurice Bernard and Mary Henrietta (Toohey) Aufderheide. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Kennedy and a brother, Maurice Bernard Aufderheide, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Mary F. (Cocca) Aufderheide; daughter, Mary Frances Aufderheide of Chester, Maryland; sons and daughters-in-law, Augustine Robert Aufderheide, Jr. of Herndon, Virginia, and Mary Ryan of Prince Frederick, Maryland and Richard Joseph and Sarah Aufderheide of Stevensville, Maryland; five grandchildren, Samantha, Carolyn, Ricky, Gus and Max; sisters, Patricia Beck and Kathryn (Edward) Duckro; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of Chaminade High School (1950), University of Dayton with a B.S. in Physics and Math and Penn State University with a M.S. in Engineering Science. He was a retired Senior Consultant Microelectronics Engineer from NCR Corporation. He was a long time member of Incarnation Parish. Bob was a devoted family man and was always involved with activities involving his children and grandchildren. His grandchildren were the light of his life and the last several years included many trips to Maryland for grandchildren activities. He was an avid enthusiast of antique and classic cars and enjoyed restoring them, especially Ford V-8 Flatheads. He logged many miles at flea markets and car shows. He was a member of the Early Ford V-8 Club, the Antique Automobile Club of America and the Model T Ford Club. The family wishes to express their thanks to the Washington Township EMS and the doctors and staff of Kettering Medical Center Emergency Room, Cardiac Care Unit, Cardiac Cath Lab and Chaplains Office for their expert and loving care and their valiant effort in his last hours and for their kind consideration of the family. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME – FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Ave. at Rahn Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45429. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 3, 2012 at the Church of the Incarnation, 7415 Far Hills Ave., Centerville, Ohio 45459. Interment Calvary Cemetery.
