Arthur E. Creech, “Art”, age 89, of Kettering, went to be with the Lord Jesus on Monday, April 1, 2013, while at KMC. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Jacquelin Rigsby Creech in 1988. He was also preceded by his parents: mother, Susan Stamper Creech Mehl, father, Clyde Creech and step-father, Marion Mehl, as well as a half-sister, Patricia Croake. He is survived by his son, Mark D. Creech, and wife Janet L. of Kettering, and his beloved cat, Little Prince. Art was born in Middletown, Ohio, on October 7, 1923. At age 5 Art moved with his father to Gary, IN and then back to Middletown at age 9 after his father’s death. Following his graduation in 1942, Art worked for the summer at ARMCO Steel prior to enlisting in the US Navy, where he served from 1942 until 1946. Following his service in the USN, he was a Technical Information Specialist for the Foreign Technology Division at W.P.A.F.B. for 27 years prior to his retirement in 1973. Art was a member of East Dayton Baptist Church where he attended from 1966 until 1999, and an associate member of Spaulding Road Church of God since 2005. He was a very loving “Dad” and soul-mate to his beloved son, Mark. Art was a very loving man and had many dear friends because he was so friendly and kind. Calling hours will be held Friday, April 5, 2013, at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME – Beavercreek Chapel, from 5-7 PM, and again on Saturday morning, April 6, from 9-10 AM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 10 AM on Saturday, April 6, with Pastor Larry Thomas officiating. Interment following the funeral will be in Heritage Hills Memorial Gardens.
