Anthony (Tony) Woodall, of Kettering, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 6, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Freida (Sobieski) Woodall and a brother, Donald Woodall. Tony is survived by his wife of 44 years, Tami, and two children, Vincent (Stephanie) Woodall of Loveland and Aaron (Loren) Woodall of Beavercreek. He was a loving pawpaw to Oliver, Avery and Eliot Woodall. Tony is also survived by one brother, Gary (Janet) Woodall of Centerville, two brother-in-law’s David (Kate) Pope of Kettering, Aaron Pope of Dayton, sister-in-law, Pam Woodall of Centerville, Special friends Cindy Burke, Jean Sichman and Bob Martin, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Family was something Tony deeply valued and had close relationships with many extended family members of whom he is now reunited with.
Tony was proud of his Old North Dayton roots, attending Our Lady of the Rosary School through the 8th grade. He had countless stories of the nuns, playing in Stuart Patterson Park, and walking 10 miles back and forth to school in the snow (which was actually three blocks)! He went on to Chaminade, graduating in 1967. He held positions at Frigidaire, the Duriron Company and spent the majority of his career at General Motors and Delphi, prior to his retirement. He was an avid sports fan with a passion for the Bengals, Reds, Tiger Woods, Notre Dame football, and Xavier basketball.
The last years of Tony’s life were a struggle, due to Parkinson’s Disease. Although his body was weak, his will remained strong. He is now reunited with his parents and brother that he missed for so long. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic at 12:30 p.m. on March 12, 2024. Fr. Satish Joseph celebrant. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
