ROBERTS, Anna Mildred, age 95 of Dayton passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2015. Anna was born January 1, 1920 to the late Stanley and Eva Harper in Jackson, OH where she grew up on a small dairy farm. At an early age she learned to milk cows along with her sisters, Clara White and Dorothy Dixon, who precede her in death. She attended Brown School which was a one-room school house, and later graduated from Jackson High School. When she was 21 she moved to Dayton and worked for NCR where she met and married Rex Roberts (deceased). Together they had 6 children: Joyce Ritchie, Edwin Roberts, Rex Roberts Jr., Mary Stocker Camille, and twins Janette and Janelle Roberts. Years later, Anna worked for the government and later retired from DESC in 1982. She also leaves behind 5 grandchildren: Andrew Stocker, Julie Roberts, Shannon McElliott, James Pritchard (deceased) and Suzie Wilson; and 3 great grandchildren. Her children would like everyone to know that the most important job their mother had was raising her family to the best of her abilities. She made untold sacrifices and gave herself on a daily basis in order to provide for them. For the last 14 years of her life, Anna lived with her youngest daughter, Janelle. As Anna aged, she developed dementia and later Alzheimer’s. Her children want to acknowledge and express their deepest gratitude for the loving care, comfort and support given to their mother by Janelle on a daily basis. The children also want to acknowledge and offer their sincere thanks to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton who provided premier care to both Anna and her children during the final days of their mother’s life. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton in honor of Anna Roberts. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 18, 2015 from 4-6pm with the funeral service at 6pm at Tobias Funeral Home, Belmont Chapel. Burial in Jackson, Ohio on Thursday.
