Alvena D Carpenter

CARPENTER, Alvena D., age 93, formerly of Kettering and more recently of West Chester, passed away Mon., Sept. 22, 2014 after a short illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, to whom she was married 57 years; son Dr. Gregory Carpenter; and 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Alvena is survived by 1 son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Sandi Carpenter of Port Clinton and daughter-in-law Tanis Carpenter of Mason; 4 grandchildren Maren Carpenter-Fearing, Elise Evans, Kelsey Carpenter, all of Cincinnati, and John Carpenter of Port Clinton; and 1 great-granddaughter, Adrian Nicole Fearing; and several nieces and nephews. Alvena had retired from Inland, division of General Motors. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30pm, Sat., Sept, 27, 2014 at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BELMONT CHAPEL, 648 Watervliet Ave at Fauver Ave with viewing prior to the service starting at Noon. Pastor Steve Kimpel is officiating services. Internment at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southwestern Ohio or to Chesterwood Village, her home of the last few years, where she made many friends.
