Novelli, Albert E., 91, passed away at his home on June 12, 2013 after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gregorio and Elizabeth Novelli, and brothers Michael, Ernest and Dominic Novelli. He is survived by his beloved wife Virginia Filoso Novelli and daughters Catherine Novelli (son in law David Apol) and Rebecca Novelli. He is also survived by his sister Anne Yacovazzi and two grandchildren Katerina and Daniel Apol, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Albert was born in Akron, OH and graduated from the University of Akron. He served in the US Army Air Force in World War II. He was a charter member of St. Charles Borremeo Church where he served as an usher for many years. He was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars and many charitable organizations. His last place of employment was Wright-Patterson Air Force Base where he was contracting officer for the SR-71 and the U2. He was an avid golfer having made two holes-in-one and participated in numerous other athletic activities. A special thanks to Barbara Singleton who was his devoted and compassionate caregiver. The family will receive friends from 6-8 on Monday at Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at St Charles Borremeo Catholic Church, 4500 Ackerman Blvd. There will be a viewing beginning one hour prior to Mass.
