March 9, 1935 – February 24, 2025
With deep love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Ana Bennasar, who passed away peacefully on February 24, 2025, just days before her 90th birthday. Her Celebration of Life was held on March 9, 2025, a day that would have marked another year of her remarkable journey.
Ana was born on March 9, 1935, in San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic. At the young age of 18, after losing her mother to cancer, Ana embraced the role of caretaker, raising her younger siblings and managing the family home. Her devotion to family became the foundation of her life, a calling she fulfilled with love, strength, and selflessness.
On July 7, 1956, Ana married Pedro Bennasar in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, faith, and unwavering commitment. Their journey led them to Puerto Rico in 1961, where they welcomed their daughters Elisa and Ana, after first having their son Lorenzo in the Dominican Republic. In 1973, the family moved to Miami, FL, where Ana created a warm and welcoming home. Three years later, in 1976, on the Bicentennial Year of the USA, Ana, Pedro, and Lorenzo were sworn in as Naturalized Citizens, a milestone she held with great pride.
Ana and Pedro’s love story spanned 54 years until his passing in 2010. Together, they built a legacy of love, one that lives on through their eight grandchildren—Pedro, Lorenzo, Melissa, Michael, Andrew, Jonathan, Jennifer, and Jake—and their twelve great-grandchildren—Rylan, Avery, Mina, Breezy, Ivy, Viviana, Bennett, Jayden, Kylie, Joshua, Melody, and Bryan.
Ana was more than a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother—she was a caregiver, a protector, and a guiding light to everyone who knew her. She lovingly cared for her father and siblings until adulthood and beyond, raising her youngest sister, Dorcas, as her own. She was the heart of her family, always putting the needs of others before her own.
A woman of deep faith, Ana was a prayer warrior, always knowing when someone needed her prayers. She carried an unwavering love for her Lord and Savior and lived by His grace every day. She had an infectious joy, a kind heart, and a deep well of wisdom. She loved to dance, laugh, and nurture—not just her own children, but also their friends, who often saw her as a second mother. Her door was always open, and her advice was always filled with love.
Ana left this world having touched countless lives. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and faith that will live on for generations to come. Every person who knew her carries a piece of Ana in their hearts—a story, a lesson, a moment of comfort that will never fade.
She was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit, her love, and her impact remain forever.
May she rest in peace, reunited with her beloved Pedro and those who have gone before her.
