Charles V. Jefferson

Charles Victor Jefferson age 85, passed Sunday, October 2, 2016, peacefully in bed at his home, Hollander Senior Living. Charles was born May 18,1931 to Melba Miller and Floyd Jefferson in Chicago IL. He graduated from the University of Illinois Champagne-Urbana with a degree in Music. Charles married Pynette Rosetta Sharps after he began service in the US Air Force as a cryptanalyst. He was honorably discharged as a Captain in 1970. Following his military service, he began his civilian career with IBM holding multiple management positions. During his life he resided in, Washington, D.C., Maryland, Kettering, OH, Poughkeepsie, NY, and Atlanta GA. Charles was a faithful member of The First Church of Christ Scientists. Charles was survived by children, Mark A. Jefferson, and Marya L. Jefferson; daughter-in-law, Chantel H. Jefferson; grandchildren, Charles E. Jefferson, and Samantha P. Jefferson,. Services will be held on Monday October 17, 2016 at Lakemont Cemetery in Maryland where he will be laid to rest with his wife, Pynette.
