Born on October 18, 1934, died suddenly at home on June 4, 2016. He graduated from Davenport High School in 1952. He then attended WSC (Now WSU) for two years before he left college to join the Marine Corps. He achieved the rank of Sergeant and the top ranking student of his class of Marine Attack Squadron 121. He was stationed in Japan and the Philippines. After being discharged, he returned to the family farm. On September 24, 1960, he married Sharon Nate of Davenport. They had been married for 55 ½ years at the time of his passing. They had three children, Mike, Lori and Tina. Jack farmed south of Davenport on the family homestead. In addition to farming, Jack was also the District Court Judge for Lincoln County for 32 years and Director of Emergency Services in Lincoln County for 20 years. He enjoyed farming, gardening, raising cattle and his beloved goats. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Richard, Kenneth, and Robert Buck, daughter Tina Buck, and granddaughter Alice Buck. He is survived by his wife, Sharon, children Mike, Lori (Tom); grandchildren Russel (Kayleen Buck), Matthew Buck, Nathaen Buck, Margo Pecha, Jackie Pecha, and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service for Jack will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Zion Lutheran Church. Memorials can be made to the donor’s choice.
