Diane passed away April 8, 2025 in Spokane, WA. Beloved daughter, wife, and mother, she was born on November 8, 1940 to Robert and Helen Reinbold. She grew up in Davenport and graduated from Davenport High School in 1959. Following high school she attended nursing school, earned a Bachelor of Science degree, and became a Registered Nurse. Diane married Robert Martin on September 1st, 1963 ed they lived in Odessa where Bob farmed and moved to Davenport in 1970 and made their home. Diane was a nurse for many years and later became a Lincoln County Health Dept Nurse serving at many different schools, and eventually the health department director of nursing. Diane was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, and a Rainbow Girls alumni. She enjoyed travelling, quilting, crafting, and collecting nurse dolls. She also had a joy for baking, and starting the day after Thanksgiving until Christmas, made batches of cookies or candies every day, then delivered heaping plates of goodies to family and friends on Christmas Eve. She also received the Melvin Jones Fellow award for Dedicated Humanitarian Services for her tireless efforts as the organizer of the Christmas Cares project. Diane is survived by her husband Robert A. Martin, two children Sandi (Pete) Swannack and Bobby Martin along with two grandchildren, Alex and Austin Martin, and also her sister-in-law Nicki Reinbold and several nieces and nephews and extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents, infant son and brother Dean Reinbold. Diane will lie-in-state at the STRATE FUNERAL HOME, DAVENPORT, WA on Thursday, April 17, 2025 from 12:00 PM- 4:00 PM. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Zion Lutheran Church, 1007 Washington St. Davenport, WA with Pastor Ty Gubsch officiating. Memorials may be made in Diane’s name to the Zion Lutheran Church or the Christ Lutheran Church.
