Born in Colville, Washington, May 8, 1945 to Bill Burke and Lois Cooper, Dale Burke passed away May 23, 2019 after a long battle with congestive heart failure. He was 74 years old.
Dale grew up in Fruitland, Washington with his uncle Iver Burke and grandma Clara Burke until 8th grade when he moved to Creston. He graduated from Creston High School in 1963. It was there he met the love of his life, Linvill Crouch. She was 14 and he was 16. They married July 18, 1964 and moved to Fruitland when their first son Damon was born. The following year they moved to Lincoln where Dale worked at the sawmill. In 1966, they moved to Grand Coulee Dam where Dale worked as a sawyer. It was there they welcomed their second and third sons, Brian and Travis. In 1974 they moved home to the farm in Fruitland where Linvill continues to reside today.
Dale worked at the Midnight Mine for about 4 years before going to work for Don Larson Logging in 1980. Dale worked there for 40 years and is best remembered either driving his big, orange logging truck or the tractor on the farm.
Having joined the Masons in 1974, Dale was an active member of the Masonic Lodge 206 in Hunters, Washington for 45 years.
Dale is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linvill, sons Damon (Treva), Brian (Lisa), and Travis (Michelle) and brother Iver (Bub) and sister in law Anita. He had 11 grandchildren, Marshall (Jen) Burke, Tasha Bradbury, Grant (Lacey) Burke, Steven (Kayla) Burke, Athena Burke, Taylor (Steven) Burke, Dale James Burke, Haley Burke, Stella Burke, Iver Burke and Everett Burke and 10 great grandchildren, Miley, Kileyanne, Tyler, Wyatt, Liam, JD, Aurora, McKinley, Clara, and Hadlee. Dale was predeceased in death by his parents and his uncle Iver.
Dale’s family was the center of his world. His priority in life was his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and the many extended family members.
Celebration of life to be held at 11:00 am, Friday, May 31, 2019 at Cedonia Community Church. Private family inurnment, Cedonia Cemetery.
