William "Bill" Schroeder

William “Bill” Schroeder, 83, formerly of Bettendorf, IA passed away Friday, February 15, 2013 at Tidewell Sarasota Hospice House in Sarasota, FL. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 11:30 am at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 am until the service at the mortuary. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tidewell Sarasota Hospice House. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com

Bill was born October 17, 1929 in Davenport; the son of Walter and Flora (Claussen) Schroeder. He was united in marriage to Helen Miller on November 18, 1949 in Davenport at St. Mark Lutheran Church. He served in the Navy Reserves. Bill worked at Peter Pan Bakery and owned Bowladrome Lanes in Rock Island. In his spare time he enjoyed boating, dancing and people.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Helen; daughters: Debbie (Jeff) Roggensack; Lynn Schroeder and Karen (Randy) Keding; brother, Jack (Virginia) Schroeder; five grandchildren: Amy, Katy, Matt, Lindsey and Kayla; six great grandchildren and special friend, Randy “Bresslers”, Venice, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jeffrey; granddaughter Jennie, and a great granddaughter, Kenna.
