William James Burrage, Sr. was born November 17, 1947 in Louisville, Mississippi to Roosevelt Burrage and Julia Green. William moved to Davenport, Iowa with his parents and siblings in 1957. He had 10 brothers and sisters, survived by five, and joined in eternal life with five. William later moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1972, where he met Rogusta Ward and started his own family.
William first worked for the county hospital in the printing department that made the newspaper for the hospital. He later worked for General Motors at AC Delco in Oak Creek, WI, for 23 years as a machine operator.
William was an outspoken family man, who enjoyed taking his sons to go see wrestling and watch wrestling on TV with them. He loved to fish, watch basketball and football, shoot pool, play spades, and dominos. He enjoyed cooking, but especially grilling at the park. His favorite thing to do was just to be with friends, family, and watching a good western on TV.
William is survivrd by his sons, Sean Ward, Sr, and William (Jaime) Burrage, Jr,(Lamel and Craig Ward), and his daughters Monica Dorset and Tasha Rhoden; sisters: Dorothy Bates, Carolyn Thomas and Robin Burrage; brothers: Prentis Burrage, Frank Burrage and Jeffery Burrage; 14 plus grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Brothers: Jessie Burrage, Charles Burrage and Charlie Dean Burrage; sisters Lue Ann Burrage, Sharon Burrage and Julie.
