Virginia was born on November 11th, 1920, in Memphis, MS, the daughter of John Boesch and Viola Ellingsworth. She married her first husband, Robert Siefken in 1940, and later married her second husband, Benjamin Franklin in 1972. Virginia retired from Montgomery Ward Department Store in 1983, after serving 33 years. In retirement, she enjoyed camping and traveling around the United States. She was an avid member of numerous local clubs for women like the Moose Lodge, Turner Hall, and Plus 60 where she would bond with other members and play cards. She was very proud of the fact that one of her ancestors was Mr. Josiah Bartlett, one of the founding Fathers that signed the Declaration of Independence.
Those left to honor her memory are her twin sons, Robert (Janie) Siefken and Rodney (Connie) Siefken. She has numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, both biological and step, that she adored to spend time with.
She is preceded in death by her loving daughter, Carolyn (Carroll “Butch”) Richardson. Her daughter was able to wish her a Happy 100th Birthday on November 12, 2020, which was the last time they were able to see each other in person, a joyous occasion indeed. May they both Rest In Peace together.
She is preceded in death by her parents and loving husbands.
Private services will be held at the Runge Mortuary, Davenport, with burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery immediately after. There will be no public service or visitation.
