Tina M. Gannon, 55, of Davenport, Iowa passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, February 20, 2023. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at 12pm at Weerts Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10am until the time of service. She will be laid to rest at Davenport Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Tina’s name may be made to the Central Illinois Sheltie Rescue: 21135 E 1750 N Rd., Towanda, IL 61776, or to the ASPCA.
Tina was born on July 26, 1967 to Norman and Beverly Sue Poppe in Davenport, Iowa. After graduating from Pleasant Valley High School, Tina earned a Degree in General Business from the American Institute of Commerce. Tina worked for many years as a vet tech and a pet trainer at PetSmart. She was united in marriage to David Gannon on August 24, 2002 in Davenport, Iowa. Her love for animals was rivaled only by her love of her family. Tina loved to do photography, working out in her flower garden, doing crafts, and watching Iowa Hawkeye football. When the weather permitted, she and David enjoyed going on motorcycle rides.
Those left to honor her memory are her husband of 20 years, David; her beloved dogs Alexis and Molly; sister Karen Holy; brother Gene Poppe; uncle Randy (Missy) Scott; aunt Tammy (Tom Rich) Menezes; nephews Chad (Rachel) Holy and Patrick and Michael Gannon; nieces Angela (Marcus) Woster and Danielle Holy; cousins Amanda Scott Wheeler, Amber Scott, Jesse Scott, Sarah Scott, Kaydee Scott, Tiffany Scott, Yasmin Scott, and Jacob Menezes; beloved mother-in-law and dear friend Karen Gannon, and her brother-in-law Mark (Anne) Gannon.
She was preceded in death by her mother Beverly Sue; maternal grandparents Cortez Scott and Bobbie Sue Ziel; paternal grandparents John and Hulda Poppe; aunts Gerry Lee Scott and Pamela Scott; and her father-in-law Patrick Gannon.
