A memorial visitation will be held from 1 – 4 p.m. on Sunday December 22, 2019 at the Runge Mortuary. A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday December 23, 2019 at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Those who wish to attend the graveside service should arrive at the Runge Mortuary 30 minutes prior to the graveside. In lieu of flowers memorials may be left to Genesis Hospice or the family. Tom was born on October 9, 1942 in Davenport, IA to Maxwell L. and Delma (Kinkade) Wolfe. Tom proudly served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne. He was united in marriage to Brenda Creasman on November 11, 1965 in Rock Island, IL. After 38 years of employment, Tom retired from the Rock Island National Arsenal in 1998. Tom formed several businesses including a race track, tavern, and beauty salon and school.
Tom attended the Coram Deo Bible Church. He enjoyed hunting, racecar driving, fishing, and playing poker with his buddy Ken Ulrich.
Those left to honor his memory include his loving wife of 54 years, Brenda; children, Gina (Betsy) Wolfe of Princeton, IA, Stephanie (Randy) Wolfe of Buffalo, IA, Dennis (Amy) Wolfe of Bettendorf, IA,; grandchildren, Matthew and Megan Wolfe both of Bettendorf; sisters, Dolly Post of Florida and Deanna Smith of Fort Dodge, IA; many nieces and nephews; 2 cats, Chloe and Lucy and his special friend of 70 plus years, Ken Ulrich.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to thank DR. Humphrey Wong, hospice nurse Jen, hospice Chaplin Deb, vocalist Kelly, and social worker Kelsey, for their support and compassion for Tom and the family.
