Sydnie Charleen Gibson, 16, of Davenport, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2020 in Davenport. There will be a Celebration of Life held on Friday, June 26, 2020 from 5-8 pm at The Runge Mortuary. Per the family’s request, cremation rites will be accorded. Online condolences may be left at rungemortuary.com. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Sydnie was born April 15, 2004 in Davenport, the loving daughter of Kimberly Gibson and Christy Nichols. She attended Davenport North High School where she won the Principal’s Award, Perfect Attendance Award and The HAVlife award in band. She played the saxophone and won numerous ribbons for band performance and band solos. She loved playing in the band and going to school. She also was a gamer, loved to explore in the woods, swimming, butterflies, her coffee, roller skating, music and ice cream .She considered herself an ambivert and adored her dog Charlie, a chocolate lab.
Sydnie also loved to taunt her sister, ride dirt bikes, fish and ride her bike.
Those left to cherish her memory include: her parents, stepdad, Christopher Jackson, sister, Alexia Gibson, brother, Jordan Shreffler, stepbrothers Cannon Jackson and Zion Davis; stepsisters Chantia Jackson, Jaliyah Jackson, great grandfather Roland Horn, grandparents James and Debra Gibson, Cecil and Shirrelle (Jones) Jackson and Virginia Jackson; uncle, James Gibson, Jr., aunts, Felicia Gibson, Bristol Gibson, Davina Nichols, Cheryl Sabin (Carol) Sabin, Cousins, Olivia Gibson, Tobias Gibson, Jordan Gibson and Dominque Poole. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Sydney Nichols, Sterling Davis, Alice Horn and Cannon and Minnie Gibson.
