Susan Jane Kraus, 73, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2023 at Mercy Manor in Aledo, IL. Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A funeral service in honor of her life will take place 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Weerts Funeral Home. Following the service, inurnment will proceed at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Susan Kraus was born on June 16, 1949 to parents Alice Peckenschneider and Wayne Gesell. She graduated from North Scott High School. Susan married John Kraus and they were together for many years until he passed. She worked as a clerk at her husband's mechanic shop for fifteen years before retiring to take care of her father.
In Susan's spare time, she enjoyed tending to her garden where she grew both food and flowers. She also loved to go shopping, her closet was always well stocked. Faith was a big part of Susan's life, she was a long time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Those left to honor Susan's memory include her sister-in-law, Yasmina Gesell, niece, Jazmine Gesell and cousins, Nancy, Charlotte, Betty, Charlene, Joyce, Carol, Diana, and Mary.
Susan was preceded in death by both of her parents, her loving husband John Kraus, brother Richard, and cousins Dorothy, Ruth, Darlene, Gene, Donna, Mark, Richard, Sandra, and Charlie Jr.
