Steven Jay Thomas, Sr., passed away Friday, February 28, 2020 in Davenport. A celebration of his life will be Monday, March 9, 2020 at 10 am at The Runge Mortuary. His final resting place will be in Fairmount Cemetery, Davenport. Online condolences may be expressed at rungemortuary.com.
Steven was born September 13, 1958 in Greenwood, Mississippi to Walter and Rosemary (Thomas) Manuel. He loved working on vehicles and doing odd jobs for people. In earlier years, he worked as a roofer. His greatest joy though was spending time with his family and friends.
Those left to honor his memory include his children: Steven Jay Thomas, Jr., Davenport and Astevionna Thomas, Cedar Rapids; siblings: James (Jeri) Thomas, Davenport, Melvin Thomas, Bristol, TN, Emma Thomas, Lynda (Dana) Larson and David Thomas all of Davenport and Garcia Thomas, Rock Island. Also surviving are two granddaughters and a dear friend, Mark Smith, Davenport.
His parents, sisters, Patricia Thomas Manuel and Tammie Thomas and a brother, Marvin Thomas preceded him in death.
