Stephanie Miriam Aitken

Stephanie was born on August 10, 1982 in Rock Island, Illinois to Timothy and Pam Thompson. She graduated from Rock Island High School in 2000 and went onto earn her Bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois. Stephanie was united in marriage to Paul Aitken on May 9, 2015 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Stephanie worked at Allredi in Davenport as the Production Coordinator for the past 12 years, where she considered her co-workers as family and viewed her job as a privilege.

Stephanie was a ray of sunshine to her friends and family. She had a fierce sense of style and wit. She loved animals and would adopt every single one, if only Paul would let them all come home. Despite all the struggles she faced, she always went above and beyond and put other people’s needs before her own. She was empathetic even on her hardest days and you never had to wonder what she was thinking. She was known for connecting people and bringing them together as well as a lover of all beaches and sun. She decorated for every season and holiday, with Christmas as her favorite. She was active in her church and enjoyed trying to make plants grow when she wasn't baking cookies with Caroline. She will be missed and be remembered for her beautiful smile, contagious laughter, her strength and love for others. But above all, she will be remembered for her love and devotion for the one person that was her sun, moon and stars, her one and only daughter, Caroline.

Those left to honor her memory are her husband of 8 years Paul; her beautiful daughter Caroline; father Timothy; mother-in-law Mary Aitken; brother Nick (Allison) Thompson; sister-in-law Rebecca Sharpe; niece Grace Thompson; nephews Dean Thompson, Andrew Sharpe, and Jackson Sharpe; along with her two beloved dogs Binny and Nora and cat, Millie.

She was preceded in death by her mother Pam, father-in-law John R. Aitken; and her grandparents.

Visitation will be held on November 11, 2023 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport, Iowa from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm with a service immediately following at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Stephanie’s name may be made to the family for Caroline’s future education fund.
