Shirley A. “Shirlinzia” Clinton, 44 of Davenport, IA passed Friday August 11, 2017 at Genesis East Davenport, IA. Visitation will be at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly and Jersey Ridge Rd, Davenport Friday August 18, 4-7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday August 19, 2017 at House of the Lord Mission Church, 537 W. 15th Street, Davenport, Iowa. Burial will follow at Oakdale Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the family.
Shirley was born in 1973 in Davenport, IA, the daughter of Abraham Clinton Sr. and the late Ann Williams. She graduated from Davenport Central High School and continued her education earning her masters degree in business and administration from Kaplan University. She was currently employed at IMEG Corporate HQ-formerly known as KJWW Engineering in Rock Island, IL. Prior she worked for Wehr, Berger, Lane and Stevens Law Firm. She was a member of House of the Lord Mission where she recently rededicated her life to the Lord under the pastorialship of Pastor Maxwell. Shirley was an avid supporter for Race for the Cure. She was a dedicated member of the YMCA for over 20 plus years. A proud and very supportive dance mom for her girls. She loved to entertain family and friends and being the life of the party. Her hobbies included cooking with passion, reading, singing, and walks around VanderVeer Botanical Gardens.
Shirley is survived by her father; her loving and devoted finance Gary Nelson; daughters Raven Clinton-Bogan, Garianna and Garin Clinton-Nelson; grandchildren Skylar and Elijah Clinton; sisters Kathy (Elder Eddie) Horton, Carolyn (Kenny) Wilkinson, Gloria Williams, Debbie (Wilbur) Nunn, Denise (Craig) Clinton-Nelson, Daniella (Bennie) Suell, and S. Reyes, all of Davenport, and Coa-Coa “Burtha” Rivers of St. Petersburg, FL;and brothers Adolph Williams III, Ricky (Kim) Williams, Johnny Clinton, Derek (Jodi) Taylor, all of Davenport. She is preceded in death by her mother, grandparents, and brother Abraham Clinton Jr.
We loved Shirlinzia. She was vibrant and full of life. She will surely be missed by all.
