Funeral services for Sharon C. Thiering, 70, of Carbondale, CO, formerly of Davenport, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary chapel in Davenport. The family will greet friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the mortuary. Interment will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Thiering passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 in Carbondale, CO. Sharon Clara Squires was born on April 21, 1944 in Davenport, the daughter of Charles and Patsy (Kibler) Squires. On September 24, 1961, she married Ronald W. Thiering. Sharon loved her little boy Brody. She enjoyed feeding and watching the birds and deer. She loved cooking for her husband and family, visiting with the grandchildren and great grandchildren when she was able, camping, taking trips to Hawaii, and taking special trips to Las Vegas with her sister-in-law, Jackie.She is survived by her loving husband: Ronald Thiering of Carbondale, CO; Daughters: Carrie Lynn (friend, James Scovel) Thiering of Roy, Utah, Kimberly Jo (Wayne) Wulfekuhle of Asbury, IA; Brother: Michael (Jackie) Squires of Davenport; 5 Granddaughters, 3 Grandsons, 3 Great-granddaughters, 3 Great-grandsons; and 2 Nephews. In addition to her grandparents and great-grandparents, she was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kelly Ann Figueroa; grandson, Joseph Zachary Benda V; and Mother and Father-in-law, Walter and Myra Thiering.Sharon’s family would like to express their gratitude to her doctor and nurses at Calaway Young Cancer Center and Hospice.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Home Care & Hospice of the Valley or to the Scott County Humane Society.
