Ruth E. Coy

Funeral services for Ruth E. Coy, 69, of Davenport, will be 11:00 am on Thursday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport; family will greet friends on Thursday from 10:00 am to service time at the Mortuary. Ruth E. Stiles was born on August 7, 1945 in Des Moines, IA, the daughter of Virgil and Heraldine (Bringe) Stiles. She married Jerry Dean Coy on May 30, 1962 in Arlington, S.D., he preceded her in death on July 4, 2009. She worked at Central High School Cafeteria for 24 yrs. She retired in 2007.Ruth was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Davenport. She enjoyed drawing with her great-granddaughter, Mya. Ruth was the caretaker of the family, and the glue that held the family together. Survivors include her daughter: Melissa Coy of Davenport; a Son: Michael Coy of Davenport; two Grandsons: Jeremy Hubbard and Deric (Jamie Coverdill) Lacy, soon to be born great-granddaughter, Audraya Lacy, all of Davenport; a Great-grandaughter: Mya Hubbard, daughter of Jeremy Hubbard and Taylor Jimenez; brother; Don Stiles of Davenport, three Nieces: Toni Coy of Florida, Gay Lynn (Jed) Eckman of Bruce, SD, She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and niece, Janet Basye.Memorials may be made to the family.Remembrances and condolences may be made to the family at www.cunnick-collins.com.
