Rodney was the toughest man anyone had ever known, he would always go out of his way to help others. Rodney grew up as a farm boy with his siblings, brothers Mike, Ed, Greg and Chris, sisters Shelley, Gerri and Kim in Fairfield Iowa, where he graduated from FAIRFIELD HIGH SCHOOL.
He moved to Davenport, Iowa where he would meet the love of his life and wife of 30 years, Janice Lorriane Baugh, who would support him 100% in reconnecting with his aspiration to become Journeyman Lineman for IBEW company 145; where he worked and traveled across different states, while meeting new people during his travels.
Rodney and Janice moved to Rancho Cucamonga, CA where their son Colin Alazar Turecek was born. Rodney and Janice moved back to Davenport, IA to be near their family. Rodney would continue to travel across various states working his dream job.
Rodney enjoyed spending time traveling with his family, gardening his Rose bushes. In his spare time Rodney would often watch Hell’s Kitchen, Cake Boss, South Beach Tow, as well as his favorite Nascar Races.
Rodney was a workaholic beginning at the age of 9 years old, he was always working, rather it was helping his Dad on the farm, his wife with various house projects and even his dream job as an electrician.
Left to cherish Rodney’s memories are his wife Janice. Sons: Colin Turecek, Alan (April) Baugh and DeAunte Hawkins, Daughter Tyrrannie (Fred Jr) Thomas. Grandchildren: Cederick, Davian, Aalijah, Tyrin, Kyndell, Alaric, Alan Jr, Alexander, Alyas, Alani, Ashton, Amil and Mia. Great Grandchildren: Island, Aloha and Sa’Kai. His Mother Lupe, sisters Kim and Shellie. Brothers: Mike, Greg and Chris and a host of Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his Father George and Stepmother Pat Turecek, Brother Ed and Sister Gerri.
Rodney will be remembered for being headstrong, dependable, playful and a loving Husband, Dad and Grandpa as well for his silly faces, Always providing a smile on everyone's face.
And will be deeply missed by all of his family and close associates.
