Bob was born on December 6, 1946 in Davenport, IA, son to Jack and Grace (O’Neil) Lange. He was a graduate of Davenport West High School, went right into the Local #387 plumbing apprenticeship upon being drafted to serve for the US Army in Vietnam as a Sergeant and was shot in combat and earned a Purple Heart. When he returned from service he married his lifelong spouse Barbara Hennings and went on to have two children, and a 40 year career as a plumber. He was known for his many years of playing fastpitch softball throughout the Quad City area and went on to watch his daughter play at Oklahoma State and his son win a World Championship in men's fastpitch with The Farm.
His interests/hobbies included: serving as Exalted Ruler at the Elks Lodge in Davenport, he was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan, and passionately followed all of his grandchildren in their athletics.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Barbara (Hennings) Lange, are his daughter Dawn (Chantos) Lange and her husband Tim of St. Charles, IL; his son Scooter Lange of Lombard, IL; his six grandchildren, Jake, Ryan, Ashlee (Chantos) and Easton, Brock, and Brook Lange; a nephew Chris Walljasper and his beloved mother-in-law Rose Hennings.
