Robert Charles Immel

Robert “Bob” Immel, 98, of Walcott, Iowa passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at the Courtyard Estates of Walcott. A memorial service to honor his memory will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 1:30pm at Weerts Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at Sunny Side Cemetery in Charles City, Iowa. Memorials in Bob’s name may be made to the family.

Bob was born on November 16, 1924 to George and Helen Immel in Charles City, Iowa. Following high school, Bob joined the United States Army and served during World War II. He was united in marriage to Virginia Goodner on March 25, 1951; she passed away in 1995. Bob worked for Nabisco as a sales representative for many years until his retirement in 1977. He loved to dance, sing, golf, and going fishing and bowling. He was also an avid Iowa Hawkeye’s fan. Bob was an avid volunteer and worked with many organizations in Algona, Iowa. He never met a stranger, just a friend that he didn’t know yet.

Those left to honor his memory are his daughters Diane (Roger) Young and Susan (Jim) Cruchelow; grandchildren Allison (Jacob) Moore, Jennifer (Aaron) Porter, and Nathan (Katie) Cruchelow; and great-grandchildren Landon Moore, Noah Moore, Hudson Moore, Anthony Porter, Journee Porter, Aubree Porter, Jaydin Porter, and Kallie Cruchelow.

He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia, his parents, and his sister Roberta Scott.
