Funeral services for Robert E. Arzberger, 85, of Davenport will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 29, 2011 at the Cunnick-Collins Mortuary chapel in Davenport. The family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service at the mortuary. Interment will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #26. Mr. Arzberger passed away on Monday, August 22, 2011 at Trinity Medical Center – Terrace Park, Bettendorf. Robert Ernest Arzberger was born in Davenport on August 31, 1925, the son of Hugo and Magdalene (Albers) Arzberger. He served as an Ensign in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Arzberger earned a Bachelors Degree in Business from the University of Iowa. In 1949 he married Donna Dodson in Davenport. She preceded him in death in 1997. Mr. Arzberger worked as Sales Manager for the Quad City Credit Bureau until he retired in 1985. He then began working for the Davenport Chamber of Commerce as a Member Relations Manager. In 1998, he married Kay Hiegel in Davenport. Mr. Arzberger was a member of the Rotary Club, the Outing Club, and a former member of the Y’s Men’s Group. He enjoyed playing bridge and growing his many tomato plants. He prided himself on using the rain barrel method to water his tomato plants. Mr. Arzberger was also an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes. He is survived by his Wife: Kay Arzberger of Davenport; a Daughter: Susan (James) Arzberger-Eicken of Bradenton, FL; a Son: Stephen Arzberger of Davenport; two Step-daughters: Mari Pauszek of Bettendorf, IA, Nancy (Paul) Miclot-Quinn of Scottsdale, AZ; three Step-sons: Andrew (Sharlene) Miclot of Austin, TX, Dr. James Miclot, PhD. of Chicago, IL, John (Kit) Miclot of Pittsburgh, PA; 11 Grandchildren: Drs. John (Meredith) Eicken, MD of Boston, MA, Jessica Eicken of Detroit, MI, Kay Pauszek of San Diego, CA, Leo Quinn of Davenport, IA, Luci (Jason) Belcher of San Jose, CA, Grace Quinn of Scottsdale, AZ, Jake Miclot, Adam Miclot, Sam Miclot, all of Pittsburgh, PA, Christopher Miclot and Caitlin Miclot, both of Austin, TX. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna, and his brother, William.
