Rita M. Moeller

Per her request, cremation rites were accorded. Private family services will take place this week. Her final resting place will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. The Runge Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements. Memorial can be made to the family.

Rita was born May 6, 1927 in Iowa. She was married to Ralph Schmidt of Davenport, he preceded her in death. She married Richard “Dick” Moeller of Davenport, they later divorced but remained close friends. She had worked at Manor Care as a nurse’s aide from 1976 until retiring in 2015.

She loved going camping, having beers by the fire and was an avid NASCAR fan, especially, Dale Earnhardt, Sr. In her younger years, she served as President of the PTA for Washington and Sudlow Schools.

Those left to honor her memory include her sons: Rick Moeller, II, (Patti), Clinton, IA, Todd (Joline) Moeller, Wheatland, IA; daughter-in-law, Carol Schmidt, Davenport, grandchildren: Dewayne (Heather) Schmidt, Daniel (Cassie) Schmidt, Dawn Lipe, Jessica Moeller Waddell and Kathy Moeller Thompson and several great grandchildren. Her parents and sons, Dennis Schmidt and Scott Moeller preceded her in death.
