Randall “Randy” S. Wortman, 64, of Davenport, IA, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Genesis East Medical Center. A visitation will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Weerts Funeral Home. Following the visitation, there will be a time of sharing and reflection at 11 a.m. to celebrate Randy’s life. Randy will be laid to rest at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Empowering Abilities.
Randy was born on February 7, 1960 in Davenport, IA to parents Pearl and Max Wortman. He attended and graduated from the Truman Education Program. Randy moved into Empowering Abilities in 1978. He worked in the production area and held employment in the community. Over the years, he worked at Burger King, Lady Luck Casino, Kelly Services, and with DVRS as a janitor.
Randy participated in track and field in the Special Olympics, attended Camp Courageous, and participated in day services at Empowering Abilities. He was a fun loving guy, who enjoyed dancing and spending time with others. Randy took pride in his extensive watch collection. He was also a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs. Randy’s bright smile and loving energy will be missed by those who knew him.
