Phyllis was born on August 23, 1931 in Orion, Illinois to Herman and Verdie (Morrison) Lieving. After high school, she was united in marriage to Arden Johnson on May 28, 1950. They enjoyed many years of marriage until his passing in 2003. She was a human resources secretary at J.I. Case and later Kartridge Pak. Phyllis enjoyed golf, cribbage, euchre, puzzles, traveling the world with her husband, and reading.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Mike (MaryLou) Johnson of Lake Kiowa, TX, Paul (Kathy) Johnson of LeClaire, IA, Lori Antle of Bettendorf, IA, Julie (Gregg) Davis of Merrill, WI, and Nancy (Steve) Henely of Cedar Rapids, IA; daughter-in-law, Julie Johnson of Davenport, IA; grandsons, Todd Johnson of Davenport, IA, Gabriel (Marisa) Johnson of Sherrard, IL, Clay Davis of Merrill, WI, Chase Davis of Merrill, WI, Phillip Henely of Cedar Rapids, IA; granddaughters, Kelly (Chad) Ulrich of Long Grove, IA, Autumn (Jesse) Calvert of Cleveland, TN, Kayla Antle of Chicago, IL, Sara (Paul Martinez) Antle of Davenport, IA, Katie (Brandon) Pakkebier of Minneapolis, MN; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Greg Johnson; and six siblings.
