Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 24, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel, with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her honor to the Walcott Volunteer Fire Department or Wilton Retirement Community. Peggy was born January 14, 1944 to Darlo and Shirley (Frederick) Cook in Cleveland, OH. On December 13, 1992 she was united in marriage to Jerry Stierwalt in Davenport, IA. She worked at Rockwell for many years, and retired from Grampp Realty as a secretary.
Peggy was a fun-loving jokester. She enjoyed sewing, fishing, going camping, and dancing with Jerry. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family and friends and playing cards, games, and jokes. She also loved her dear cat, Tinker.
Those left to celebrate her life include children, Ronda (Gary) Morrison of Blue Grass, IA, Ed (Joy) Williams of Davenport, IA, and Lynett (Lonnie) Robertson of Blue Grass, IA; stepson, Carey (Julie) Stierwalt of Phoenix, AZ; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Darlene (Fred) Turner; and brother, Bill (Chris) Bendell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Jerry; stepson, Scott Stierwalt; and brother, Phillip Bendell.
