Patricia was born in 1927 to Frank W. and Mary Christmas (Forristal) Wolfe in Des Moines, Iowa, later moving to Princeton, Iowa. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1946. Patricia married Jack L. Taber in 1947; they had two daughters Jackie (Lee) Holden of Eldridge, Iowa and Patti (Dale) Trout of Davenport, Iowa.
Pat was employed by Thomas-Proestler Co. on West River Drive in Davenport, Iowa for many years. She later enjoyed being employed by the City of Princeton until 1998. She and Harley L. Walker were united in marriage on March 4, 1972 in Missouri; he preceded her in death on April 1, 2004, after 32 years of marriage. They loved to travel, camp, watch their grandchildren and great-grandchildren in all of their activities, and they loved their “Argo Breakfast Group”!
Pat was an avid CUBS fan and would fly the “W” flag, win or lose! She was very gifted at drawing, painting, quilting, crocheting, basket weaving, flower gardening and making pies! Pat especially loved her great-granddaughter, Lauren, coming to play BINGO and doing crafts with her at Jersey Ridge Place.
Those left to honor her memory are her two daughters and son-in-laws; grandchildren: Rev. Jason Holden, Carbondale, IL, Dr. Lisa (Troy) Klaus, Eldridge, IA, and Cody Donahue, Davenport, Iowa; great-grandchildren Tristan Klaus, Luke and Cole Jennings, and Lauren Klaus. Step-children Barbara (William) Gray, Missouri, Patricia Walker, Rock Island, IL, Linda (Mike) Cameron, Missouri, 13 step grandchildren, and 22 step-great grandchildren. Her sister Janice (Dr. Clyde) Shown, a favorite sister in law Dorothy Alice, cousin Lee (Jane) Loux, and many loved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harley, step-sons Harley Jr and Steven Walker, step-granddaughter Maria, and her sister and brother in law Gloria (David) Chapman.
The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Schreck, Jersey Ridge Place, and Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House for providing excellent, compassionate care to our Mother.
