Olmedo J. Clarke, 62, of Davenport, Iowa went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at his home. A home going celebration will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 11am at Gospel Mission Temple in Davenport; friends may call upon the family starting at 10am until time of service. Olmedo will be buried at the Rock Island National Cemetery following the service.
Olmedo was born on March 14, 1962 in Colon, Panama to Egbert and Mercedes Clarke. After graduating from Central High School, Olmedo joined the United States Army and served from 1981 - 1994. On March 4, 1988 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Ann Miller. Olmedo loved to serve the Lord and was involved in many of the various ministries at Gospel Mission Temple and served as chairman for many of them. He loved to cook, grill, and BBQ for his family; most of all he just enjoyed good food. Growing up and into his adult years, Olmedo enjoyed reading and writing stories. He was very outspoken and wasn’t afraid to tell you how things were. Olmedo also loved watching professional wrestling.
Those left to honor Olmedo’s memory are his wife of 36 years, Ann; children: Shavonta Miller, Terry Miller, Alexis Miller, Darryl Johnson, and Derrick Johnson; a beloved host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother Augustine (Margarie) Clarke; sister Virginia (Joseph) Wiggins; brothers-in-law Albert (Deanna) Miller, Marvin (Phyllis) Miller, Lorenzo (Christine) Cook, and Charles Miller; sisters-in-law Tanya (Marvin) Jackson, Talecia Eaton, Tamla Miller, Crystal Miller, and Whittney Miller; along with a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
