Nicolaus was born August 1, 1936 in Davenport, the son of Nick F. and Pauline (Wittig) Willers.
He is survived by his three older sisters and a younger brother; Hilda Whalen, Bella Vista, Ark., Betty Glynn, Bettendorf, Dorothy Plagmann, Davenport and John Willers, Raleigh, NC.
Nick worked for many years at the Handicapped Development Center prior to his retirement in 2016. He spent most of his life living on a small farm with his parents. Life on the farm included many family gatherings, dinners and picnics attended by the Glynn and Plagmann nephews and nieces and their spouses and children. A typical summer gathering usually included a softball game that Nick enjoyed watching. Nick enjoyed life on the farm by helping care for the cows, pigs, chickens and horses and eating fresh food from the garden, especially the sweet corn.
A favorite activity of his in addition to eating hamburgers was watching television and viewing western movies, especially those with John Wayne, Roy Rogers, Gene Autry and the Lone Ranger. Oh, and don’t forget the great tv series, “Gunsmoke” with Matt Dillon, Festus, Kitty, Doc and Chester. Nick enjoyed them all.
